Argumentative Outline:
Intro- Banned violence in media/ history
- Media violence has been around for a long time. There is a lot of bad things in the world that are being showed in television news, movies, video games and internet websites such as games.
- Children are being more exposed to violence, than they have ever been. We all have a different mindset, and people now are capable of doing anything they see whether it's on television, movies, video games or social media.
- growing up adolescents start looking into video games and their preference on video games are usually about violence
- It is known that “ Ninety-seven percent of the adolescents age 12-17 play video games on a computer, on consoles, such as the Wii, PlayStation, Xbox, or on a portable device such as Game Boys, smartphones and tablets”(Benedict Carey)
- Violent video games are a negative effect on the youth
- players engage on a deeper level in video games physically and emotionally
- teens start becoming antisocial
- These video games become a habit to players.
- Once they begin playing, they will spend so much time into these games, that the shut down everything else around them.
- They start becoming antisocial at school, they spend less quality time with family and it's even worse when they have younger siblings
- bad influence to younger siblings
- When these younger siblings see their brother or sister playing these violent video games they start wanting to play at a very young age which is not good, because they will have the tendency of getting a bad behavior.
- Violent videos games increase aggressive behavior on teens
- amount of time teens/children are allowed to play
- Their aggressive behavior comes from disappointment in losing, and competing against others.
- Affects their daily life
- school for example
- decline in school achievements
- lack of work they get done
- bad grades
- engage fights with their peers
- disobey them
- Watching television, and Movie violence gives bad examples to society
- Television broadcasts shows, news, movies, soap operas, programs and more
- Children are more exposed to this violence because they have no parental supervision as to what they are watching.
- “The typical American child will view more than 200,000 acts of violence, including more than 16,000 murders before the age of 18” (Eugene V Beresin).
- watching movies causes people to imitate what they see
- What the media doesn't see is that by showing such things as movies that contain inappropriate images of people murdering, kidnapping, and much more, portrays ideas to young people who then try to recreate the same thing causing this world to have violence
- watching violence can also leave children fearful
- make them sensitive
- it will affect the way you child will think and behave
- Violence in social media
- Social media is used on a daily basis by millions of people.
- There are numerous social networking sites that let you interact with friends, family, and random strangers online.
- But one main issue about social media is that on social networking sites there are tons of violence being shown out to the public without it being hidden.
- They should have more restriction on social networking sites to prevent people and kids from watching these terrible things.
- Conclusion
- Banning violence in media is the best thing it would be for society and the whole world.
- There would be no more violence in video games, television/movies and social media, making it a healthier environment for society and they no longer would get influence.
- The possibility of banning violence can decrease the actual violence in the world making it a less dangerous place and making it a prominent place.
